Tony Lawrence
FBDO
Tony has been a Qualified Dispensing Optician for over 20 years. He has a wealth of experience in pretty much every Optical environment. Prior to finding his true vocation, Tony was an engineer and also a keen sportsman so unsurprisingly, Sports vison and Industrial eyewear solutions are of particular interest to him. He is a keen Pompey fan, he also has a particular fondness of bad jokes – so, if you ask him for a joke don’t say we didn’t warn you!
Lee Wilson
Director
Lee has been part and parcel of Portsea Island Opticians for over 25 years! He is our keen ‘all rounder’ and he prides himself at being able to deliver just about every aspect of Optics – He’s even a dab hand at making spectacles! When not at work you will usually find lee wandering around in the great outdoors with a golf club in his hand as Lee is a keen golfer.
Carol Bolt
Head Receptionist
Carol is the glue that binds our front of house team. Carol will probably be the first face to greet you when you enter the practice, and if you’ve been to us before, there is every chance that she will greet you by name. Carol brings a great deal of customer service experience to our team and she is our permanent ray of sunshine!
Nic Miles
Dispenser
Nic has recently re-joined us from one of the ‘multiple’ optical companies. Nic brings a wealth of Optical experience and is keen to develop it in an environment where time is available to ensure complete customer satisfaction. Nic is particularly interested in advising the best solutions for Occupations where comfortable vision is critical, particularly in modern office environments.
Abigail Grey
Optical Assistant
Abigail has a passion for frame styling and takes great pride in helping someone select frames that flatter or blend in – just as you want them to. She has great experience in operating our important ‘pre-screening’ equipment to ensure that each eye examination is customised for our patient’s individual needs.
Catherine White
Mc Optom Bsc Hons
Catherine has been a Resident Optometrist at Portsea Island Opticians for over 10 years. Catherine also works at the Ophthalmology Department of a local hospital and as such she is extremely clinically driven. Catherine also runs a low vision clinic a for those in need of additional care.
